Pour Out His Love

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you

will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

Several years ago, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Niagara Falls on the U.S. side. I am certain that I was the most excited of the four of us to witness this amazing waterfall. At first, glance, peering over the rail to view Niagara River, the water appeared to be gracefully in slow motion. Yet if I let my eyes follow the water over the edge, the pace quickened to a mighty force as it abandoned the river’s edge to pummel down below. My heart began racing as I remembered that 3,160 tons of water flow over Niagara Falls every second. It was then, I realized I had a real-life example of the mighty power of my God. His love overflows my jagged-edged life with strength and grace. It is because of Him that I desire to encourage others and pour out His love to those around me.

In these verses, Paul encourages the Philippians that God began a good work in them, and through them, God can pour out His love until the day Jesus returns. So, let’s run to our God in eager excitement to be filled with joy and gracefully overflow His love. Let’s maintain joy by being connected to other believers who can learn, grow, and pray with us. Do not become isolated! Join a small group, reach out to a younger or older believer; take the step forward to be in fellowship with other believers. In doing so, may your love abound, overflow like Niagara Falls, pouring out His love on all.

Be encouraged!

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for giving us examples of your love all around us; whether it is in a graceful flowing river or a mighty waterfall, or the kind smile of a child or the hug from a friend. Help us to carry out your good works by abounding in your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Tiffany, i found myself saying Amen out loud throughout your message! Yes, let us be filled to brim with our God’s love so that we can share Him with others who need His encouragement so desperately. Thank you for your wonderful example of God’s power and might to overcome all evil around us and spread His love and goodness. Blessings, Susan
