Made Complete

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 1 John 4:12

This weekend I had been organizing some notebooks and journals that my sons had used over the years and was pleasantly surprised when I opened one and saw the young handwriting of the scripture 1 Peter 4:8, “Above all keep loving one another earnestly since love covers a multitude of sins.” One of the first ways both of my sons learned to write was by copying scripture. With each letter they practiced, scripture was hidden into their hearts. It brought such joy to see the many years of handwritten scripture journaling.

As my sons grew older, they were always involved in a Bible study. Their knowledge of those scriptures grew as they studied the deeper meanings within context. Once they had the bigger picture of the Bible, they began to dig deeper into a personal relationship with God. They have set aside personal devotion time to seek God’s wisdom for their lives. I have seen them grow and mature in their love towards others because of their dedication to live as Christ. It is a precious priveledge that we all have to be able to read God’s Word and to hide it in our hearts. As we allow God to live in us, His love is made complete when we choose to love one another.

Be encouraged!

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for your written Word. Thank you that we are able to freely read, write, meditate and share it with others. Help us to have a loving heart towards all of those around us. May we keep at the forefront of our minds that through us your love is made complete. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
