Pour Out His Love

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

Two and a half years ago, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Niagara Falls on the U.S. side. I am certain that I was the most excited of the four of us to witness one of the most amazing waterfalls. I was giddy like a little girl as we pulled into the parking lot, gathered our cameras and headed down the path. I headed straight for the rails closest to the edge of the rushing water. It was surreal.

At first glance, peering over the rail to view Niagara River, the water appeared to be gracefully in slow motion as I gazed across the surface. Yet, if I let my eyes follow the water over the edge, the pace quickened to a mighty force, as it abandoned the river’s edge to pummel down below. It was then, that my heart began racing as I remembered that 3,160 tons of water flows over Niagara Falls every second. It was then, that I had a real life example of the mighty power of my God. His love overflows my jagged edged life with strength and grace. It is because of Him, that I desire to encourage others and pour out His love to those around me.

In the above verse, Paul encourages the Philippians that God began a good work in them, and through them, God can pour out His love until the day Jesus returns. So, let’s run to our God in eager excitement to be filled with joy and gracefully overflow His love. Let’s maintain joy by being connected to other believers who can learn, grow and pray with us. Do not become isolated! Join a small group, reach out to a younger or older believer; take the step forward to be in fellowship with other believers. In doing so, may your love abound, overflow like Niagara Falls, pouring out His love on all.

Be Encouraged!

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for giving us examples of Your love all around us; whether it is in a graceful flowing river or a mighty waterfall, or the kind smile of a child or the hug from a friend. Help us to carry out Your good works by abounding in Your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. The Lords overflowing love is all around us, if we only take the time to look. Words to hold onto for sure. And thank you for the reminder to come together with other believers that our joy may abound. Oh how I love the encouragement from brothers and sisters in Christ! Thank you Tiffany.

  2. I am so thankful that we share a community of faith. I have been asking fellow believers to pray for my dear former mother in law, 86, who is having a tumor removed from her spinal cord this morning. Please join me in praying for her healing and safety . Please join me in praying for healed relationships in this family and that my ex, Randy, would turn to Jesus for comfort and healing. Thank you my sweet sisters. I need you today and everyday. Blessings, Susan
