“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Psalm 32:7
“Praise the Lord! He is good! God’s love never fails.” Psalm 136
This weekend, I felt awful. I felt very troubled. I succumbed to the illness floating around this winter; the ugly bug that causes sinus congestion, headache, body aches and lethargy. I wanted nothing more than to just stay in bed and sleep it away. Yet, I found myself awake at odd times at night, with many different people on my mind, and so I prayed.
I was taught to pray for those who pass into your mind, because it just may be the Holy Spirit whispering a need of prayer for that person. I am so thankful that I have a real and mighty God that I can lift my prayers up to. I know He hears them no matter how small, childlike, or lengthy and wordy they may be. In any form, my prayers are heard. Praise the Lord!
Linda’s blog yesterday, What is Prayer, had such great words of wisdom regarding prayer. One thing she stated, that stood out to me, was that prayer is about having a conversation between two people that love each other. Oh, how beautiful! When we pray to Him, He hears our every word. He’s patient and loving as He hears our cries. He’s ecstatic when He hears our joys!
How can I be so sure that He hears us? I know how much He loves us because He left us an entire love letter in the Bible that talks about hearing our prayers (1 Peter 3:12). I hope in Him and know that He loves me when He sends comforting blessings to me: my dog and cat snuggling me when I’m sick or when my son makes a cup of tea for me. I know that God loves me when the sun breaks through the clouds and window to wrap His warmth around me when I’m chilled. I know He loves me and is merciful even when I’m sneezing, congested, sad and sick! God’s love never ends no matter what! Thankfully, my cold symptoms will pass, but my God’s love will last forever!!!
Prayer: Dear loving, comforting Lord! All praise and honor unto You! Thank You for Your Word in Lamentations 3:22-24
“The Lord’s love never ends; his mercies never stop.
They are new every morning; Lord, your loyalty is great.
I say to myself, ‘The Lord is mine, so I hope in him.’”
